EUSALP Energy Award 2026
The EUSALP Energy Award is a flagship initiative of Action Group 9 of the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP) that has the mission to "make the territory a model region for energy efficiency and renewable energy". Since 2022, the award is organized under changing topics to cover the variety of relevant energy aspects and to engage with a wide range of good practices.
Energy Transition in the Alps: From Innovation to Real Impact
The award edition 2026 runs under the topic “Energy Transition in the Alps: From Innovation to Real Impact”. It honours measures, initiatives and projects of a wide range of actors that significantly contribute to the energy transition in the electricity and heating sectors making them energy transition pioneers that apply innovative technical, social or economic solutions.
In 2026, the international expert jury welcomes proposals in the following areas:

Energy Transition in the Alps: From Innovation to Real Impact

- Technological innovation
- Organizational/social and regulatory innovation
- Business model innovation
Why candidate?
- The energy transition pioneers will be honored during the EUSALP Energy Awarding Session in presence of politicians and high ranking representatives from all over the Alps (The Awarding Session will be organized during the October 2024, Slovenia)
- The awarded energy transition pioneers will be promoted through the international EUSALP media channels giving them visibility thorughout the Alps and beyond.
- The winners of the award will receive international press coverage
- The winners will have the possibility to network with other good practices that support the energy transition in Europe and in the Alps
- The winner initiatives will be presented in a promotional video supporting replication of the good practice

- Opening of tender: 08 April 2026
- Closure of tender: 12 July 2026
- Selection by the jury: July-August 2026
- Announcement of winners: 14 August 2026
- Award Ceremony: 22 October 2026 during the EUSALP Annual Forum, Lindau, Germany, under the patronage of the Bavarian EUSALP Presidency 2026
